Winter Assault is the first expansion to the classic squad-based RTS game Dawn of War. The expansion requires the original game to play and adds a new fully playable faction – the Imperial Guard – along with two short campaigns for "good" and "bad" armies. Winter Assault also introduced significant multiplayer balance changes, which have since been superseded by the second and third expansions.
