The Heavy Weapon Squad is the Imperial Guard tier 1 set-up unit in Dawn of War II: Retribution multiplayer. It is the equivalent of a Devastator Marine Squad or Chaos Havocs, but it can be upgraded with a sergeant member that grants additional durability and knockback immunity.
- Suppression weapon squad that can upgrade to either an autocannon for moderate anti-everything damage or a lascannon for high anti-vehicle damage
- The only heavy weapon squad that can get a squad leader, which grants survivability and knockback immunity
- The only heavy weapon squad that can repair vehicles and buildings, further improving IG synergy with vehicles
