Planet Calderis
Calderis is an Imperial Feudal World in sub-sector Aurelia, known for its arid climate and hardy warriors. The Blood Ravens Chapter of Space Marines have recruited from this world for millennia. An Imperial Governor oversees the planet from orbit.
Calderis is one of the main locations in Dawn of War II, Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising and Dawn of War II: Retribution.
Background[]
An arid sphere, first settled in the forgotten pre-Imperium past, Calderis remains a brutal feudal world to this day. It is a wonder that human life breathes here at all, given the string of constant threats that have assailed the settlers: a mighty Ork Waaagh!, a Tyranid invasion, and both Chaotic and daemonic incursions. Yet despite all this, the settlement not only survives, but manages to thrive! Much of this persistence is owed to the fierce, enduring spirit of the settlers, but also to the efforts of the Blood Ravens, a chapter of the Emperor's own Space Marines. For the Blood Ravens, Calderis is, first and foremost, their recruiting world. Almost all new Blood Ravens are drawn from the planet's fiercest warriors, giving the planet a very good relationship with their space marine protectors.
