Genestealers (Corporaptor hominii in High Gothic) are Tyranid vanguard creatures, lethal melee fighters capable of stealth. They are deployed in preparation of a Tyranid invasion and can function independently, without the Hive Mind. Genestealers reproduce by contaminating host creatures with their genetic code.
